The tickets for UFC® 129: St.Pierre vs Shields at Rogers Centre in Toronto on April 30 was immediately sold out just for several minutes after being announced to be available to the public; this was officially announced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship®. Due to the high demand, the UFC and Rogers Centre officials reconfigured the former 42, 000 seats to 55,000 to accommodate the UFC fans watching the live fight of UFC 129.

It would also set a record for the largest gate and attendance records in the UFC history. In the UFC events, the previous gate record was $5.4 million of the UFC 66: LIDDELL vs. ORTIZ that was set on December 30, 2006 at Las Vegas, MGM Gran Garden Arena, and the UFC 124: ST-PIERRE vs. KOSCHECK 2 at Bell Centre, Montreal last December 11, 2010 and it previously have a attendance record of over 23,000 fans.
Stooping down the two UFC records, the UFC 129 will also set the record of the largest single-day event gate for the Rogers Centre’s history. This venue has been a home of the world’s top sporting events and entertainment.
As President Dana said, "UFC continues to set new milestones, we've sold 55,000 tickets in our first stadium event in Toronto and we continue to take the UFC to the next level."
The Rogers Centre VP for events, Silvio D'Addario stated "Based on the lightning quick sell-out, there is no doubt that UFC's fan base is extremely passionate,” and he added "We've worked closely with UFC to configure the venue to provide the best fan experience possible and we look forward of hosting this historic event of the UFC."
